FAQs
What is concierge physical therapy, and how is it different from a typical PT visit?
1
Concierge PT means you get my full, undivided attention for the entire session — no double-booking, no rushing between patients. Sessions typically happen in your home, so you're not commuting postpartum or in the middle of your day just to get care. It's individualized from the first visit, built entirely around your specific history and goals.
I serve Pasadena and greater Los Angeles, with visits at your home or a pre-arranged private office location. If you're outside that area, reach out — I may still be able to help, or point you toward a good referral.
2
Where do you see clients?
How long are sessions, and how many will I need?
3
Sessions typically run 60–90 minutes. The number of visits varies by person — some clients need a short series focused on one specific issue, others prefer ongoing support through pregnancy and postpartum, for example. We'll talk through what makes sense for you after the first visit.
What conditions do you treat?
4
My background includes an orthopedic residency and a spine fellowship, alongside specialized pelvic health training — so my practice covers more than just pregnancy and postpartum care.
For pregnancy and postpartum clients, I treat pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, pelvic organ prolapse, pain with intercourse, urinary leaking or urgency, and pregnancy-related orthopedic issues like low back, hip, pelvic girdle, and rib pain.
I also see clients for general orthopedic and spine conditions unrelated to pregnancy — including low back pain, neck pain, and other musculoskeletal issues — bringing the same residency and fellowship-level training to that care as well.
What happens during a first session?
5
Your first visit includes a full conversation about your history, goals, and current symptoms, along with a physical assessment specific to what you're experiencing. From there, we build a plan together — you'll leave with a clear understanding of what's going on and what we're working toward, not just a list of exercises.
Do I need a referral from my doctor?
6
No referral is required to get started, though some insurance plans may require one for reimbursement purposes. California's direct access law lets you see a licensed physical therapist (PT) without a doctor's referral, limited to 45 days or 12 visits, whichever comes first. You do need a physician sign off to keep seeing me beyond that point.
Do you accept insurance?
7
I operate as an out-of-network provider.
I'm interested in Strong From Within instead of 1:1 care — which is right for me?
8
If you want individualized, hands-on care specific to your body and history, concierge sessions are the better fit. If you're looking for a self-paced, more affordable program you can work through independently, Strong From Within may be exactly what you need — and there's no reason you can't do both, at different points in your journey.
